VMDK files and entries not removed after removing Hard disk - VMWare Player 14

Hi,

I am using VMWare Workstation Player 14.1.1.

For a VM, after I remove a Hard disk from the Hardware tab, the only item from that list is removed.

The VMDK files are still present in the folder and the hard drive entries are still there in the VMX file.

Is this normal behavior or am I missing something?

I thought that when I remove a hard disk from the hardware tab, all its entries and associated files should ideally get removed.
