I have:
- Windows 10 Pro host (1803, build 17134.48)
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (first gen) over USB (2ch, 16 bit, 96 kHz)
- VMWare Workstation 14 Player (14.1.2 build-8497320)
- A Ubuntu Studio 16.04 64-bit guest
With this configuration, VMWare is unable to produce any audio. It gives me "The default sound device cannot be opened: Undefined external error. Sound will be disconnected."
I have no idea what to do in order to get sound to work. Removing the Scarlett from the chain is not an option.
