I am running VMware Player 5, Host operating system Windows 8, Guest operating system Windows XP.
During powerup, I'm getting the message "Unable to open kernel device "\\.\VMCIDev\VMX"
I know that editing the VMX file and changing vmci0.present = "false" allows the virtual machine to boot (and in my case it does).
But when I do that, my virtual machine can no longer connect to the network, either bridged or NAT.
Any help would be appreciated.
