Hello,
I've been looking around the forum for quite a while, but none of the discussions have solved my problem.
Everytime I try to connect a USB device (SanDisk Cruzer 32 GB) to my guest OS (Windows XP Professional SP3 - 32bit) I get an error message from the VMware player saying that no driver can be found. My host OS (Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1 - 64bit) can recognise the USB device and so can VMware because the device name appears in a dialogue box when I start my virtual OS up. My computer (DELL XPS 15 L501X) uses USB 3.0 ports, however I have lowered the USB compatibility to 2.0 on VMware (see image attached) because Winbdows XP does not support USB 3.0.
I have also tried downloading Windows XP USB drivers, but it won't let me install them on my VM. I am able to run CD's/DVD's on my VM and there appears to be some USB Drivers already installed on the VM. (see image attached) VMware tools is installed on the virtual OS aswell.
I would appriciate any suggestions on how to fix this problem, so I can use USB's on my VM.
Many Thanks
Joe.
