Hi,
We have an VM ware image for one of the IBM product named "Message Sight".
We have the "VMware Player" and we were able to import the "Message Sight" VMware image inside this VMware player in a windows box. The host computer here is System-A were the VM ware player is running and the "Message sight got imported in the VM ware player" and after some basic default configuration, we get a new IP address and a specific port say 9087
From the System-A, were were able to access the new IP address (say 10.11.12.13) and the port 9087. Here note that the System-A is the host system were we have the vmware player running the "Message sight" server running.
Now the issue that we are facing is from another system, say "System-B", we are NOT able to connect to the VM ware port 9087. From System-B, we are able to ping to the IP 10.11.12.13, but we are NOT able to establish connectivity to the port 9087. System-B is again a windows box. We are not sure why System-B is not able to get connected to the port 9087. System-A is able to connect to the IP and the port with out any issues.
Here the only difference between system-A and system-B is system-A hosts the VM.
We disabled the windows firewall also in System-B, but still the system-b was not able to connect to the Port.
Question is, does the VM ware player has any firewall settings that we need to disable to make sure that all system are able to connect to the 10.11.12.13 and port 9087. Currently as explained above, only System-A is able to connect to 10.11.12.13 and port 9087.
Any idea ? As explained above, we do not have VM ware work station, but we have vmware player. is there any port restriction in the vm ware players exist ?
Thanks,
Dinesh
